 ABOUT

Polly stumbled into storytelling in January 2011 and was named Young Storyteller of the Year two months later. Since then she has performed on bar stools, bandstands and beaches; in theatres, schools and museums; and for national and international festivals. She is excited about the power of traditional storytelling to connect the ancient with the contemporary and to connect people across dividing lines.

From 2018-2021, Polly co-created and co-hosted STORYPUB with friend and collaborator, Tamar Williams. In 2017/18 she undertook a year long residency with the egg theatre, Bath, exploring storytelling for early years audiences and in 2016-17 she produced and performed in the Laos Storytelling Exchange  in partnership with Garavek Storytelling Theater.

During lockdown, Polly partnered with Bristol Community Development project, The Network, to create a community podcast featuring traditional tales and personal stories from Bristol residents. You can listen to Held In Common here.

Polly has appeared for: Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, Bath Festivals, Tobacco Factory Theatres, Towersey Folk Festival, The Museum of East Asian Art, Oxford Arts Festival, Museums at Night, Bath Christmas Markets, Oxford Playhouse, Birmingham Storytelling Cafe, Walsall Libraries, Beyond the Border Storytelling Festival and many more.

Polly is currently working on a new solo show about rage and animal skins. Read more about GRIZZLY.
