From May to December 2025, Polly worked as one of a cast of four actors to deliver rehearsed readings of ten new plays, each of which had been shortlisted for the inaugural Ambassador Peel Playwriting Challenge: a playwriting competition designed to attract the best of new writing to Ambassador cruise ships.

Performing onboard Ambassador's Ambition in the stunning onboard theatre, the cast presented each reading to an invited audience, including the competition's judges and the playwrights themselves.

​

Polly had the wonderful opportunity to play a range of roles across the ten plays - from a proud Blackpudlian, to a harried nursery school headmistress, to a desperate restoration heiress and a singing siren. 

 

The readings took Polly and the team to the ports of Bristol, Newcastle, Dundee, Belfast, Liverpool and Tilbury, where the winner of the award was announced in December 2025.
