CORNERSTONE RESIDENCY

From 2017-19, Polly and storytelling colleague Hannah McDowall were Storytellers in Residence at Scottish Social Care Charity, Cornerstone.

They worked with the charity as they underwent a huge process of organisational change: shifting to a non-hierarchical organisational structure.

Through an intensive training programme and extended follow up mentoring, Polly and Hannah trained 12 Storytelling Champions from different departments: equipping them to ethically and creatively capture stories of the change process - both their own stories and other people's. The stories captured included the experiences of staff members and service users from across Scotland.

The stories were then used internally, for the charity's evaluation of the change process, and externally, as a way of communicating the impact of the process to the wider social care sector.
